ECHUCA, WEDNESDAY 5TH OCTOBER

$50WIN
Race 1 No 4 Heza Warhorse ($2.50)

Was extremely disappoimting first up for Laura Crossland after leading and caving in late.  This is a weaker race & with the lead up for grabs should be able to control this race if he can cross early.  No excuses if he can.

$50WIN
Race 5 No 8 Rob The Bank ($3)

Had excuses last time out in a much stronger field than this although is making a habit of finding trouble.  Mark Pitt onboard is a huge plus, follows through it's stablemate who should lead & we have Brian Gath onboard Master Mach Manus who'll no doubt put the pressure on the first 600metres and a huge risk first up. As always at Echuca, if the pressure doesn't come we'll have an issue but I just think he's better than these with even luck.
$25WIN
Race 6 No 3 Missurquhart ($3.75)

Another horror meeting here punters but I think there maybe some value here.  Was only 3metres off Might Mara in a C1 heat without having much luck late & then nothing went right in the final.  Massive chance to cross them early & should go very close but small outlay as it's 1 win from 66 starts for a reason
RESULT:  3rd & beaten a long way.

CRANBOURNE, SUNDAY 2nd OCTOBER

$75WIN
Race 1 No 1 Chippie Tanna ($2.25)

Liked the way it's returned to racing this prep against better opposition.  Nice draw here & I think it can hold them out based on the gate speed it showed at Yarra Valley.  Looks the winner with even luck

MILDURA, SATURDAY 1ST OCTOBER

$25WIN
Race 1 No 7 Your Place Or Mine ($5)

Never got a look in against much better horses last time.  Going to need a bit of luck again here but I think it's going better than what most people might think. I'll be happy if Albie Ashwood holds them out early.

$50WIN
Race 5 No 4 Finedropofred ($3)

Great effort last week to only finish 5 metres off Gollahman.  There is bugger all speed on his inside tonight and tonight has to be the night that he holds it & gives it a real crack.  Has beaten all of his main rivals recently as well. I probably double the bet if Youvegottobelieveit wasn't in the race as it'll be a pest at some point.

SHEPPARTON, FRIDAY 30TH SEPTEMBER

$50WIN
Race 5 No 2 Aguante ($3)

Not suited over the short trip at Melton but the run was better than what it looked in good time.  Ran Shogun Thomas to a head just over the month ago after leading & her win at Charlton 2 starts back after leading was very good.  Leads and looks veryt hard to catch
RESULT:  3rd.  Led pretty easily and didn't find much

$100WIN
Race 9 No 2 Jo An Leonie ($2.25)

Was the run of the Vicbred final for mine after working and only being beaten a head in 1.55sec mile rate.  I think she'll get a much easier run here tonight in front and looks the best bet of the night
RESULT:  WINNER!  Nathan knew better than me and took a sit & job the job done.  Got out to $3.50 on Betfair.  Collect $280

MELTON, THURSDAY 29TH SEPTEMBER

SUGGESTED BETS
$75WIN

Race 1 No 2 Bad Boy Brad ($2.25)

An absolute shocker of a drive from Jason Hackett last week & tonight it make up night although not at the same odds.  Expect Bazzas Art to fly the gate and lead but it's hand up quickly & expect that to be Bad Boy Brad taking it up.  No excuses from there
RESULT:  LOST!  Broke after the start and never looked comfortable after that.

$10WIN/$40PLACE
Race 6 No 10 Shakti Bromac ($11)

Been running some ok races against much better horses of late.  With Mister Wickham drawn awkwardly & a question mark on the form of Im Barney Rubble who is the likely leader, Im happy to play at what should be big odds
RESULT:  3rd.  Went to the death after a ridiculously slow lead time.  Not a death horse so to hold 3rd was a good effort.  Plenty of $3.50+ a place around be we cop $2 for the site.  Collect $80

GEELONG, WEDNESDAY 28TH SEPTEMBER

$40 TRIFECTA
Race 7: 2 / 1-8 / 1-7-8 for 1000%

Zibibo did what it needed to win last start, although not overly impressive, looks to have this race won.  Our Red Sky Night & Give Me The Night get the cheap runs behind it & I can’t leave out Smile Lyle who was impressive last start
RESULT:  WINNER!  The 1 falls in for 3rd & we pretty much just double our money.  Don’t spend it all at once.  Collect $86

BENDIGO, TUESDAY 27TH SEPTEMBER

$10WIN/$40PLACE
Race 3 No 1 Kate Lovemetwotimes ($8)

Does struggle to win but so do the majority in thiis race.  Run of it's legs last start but his run 2 starts back was better than what it looked at Charlton.  Finally gets a draw & should hand up to the best candidate.  Looks the best roughy of the night

MILDURA, SUNDAY 25TH SEPTEMBER

$25WIN
Race 2 No 3 Kearney Lane ($3.75)

Changes stables after a frustrating run with David Miles but does look suited to Mildura.  Has gate speed & trialled OK for this.  Should be leading & with his stablemate drawn out the back over the sprint trip, gets his chance

$50 TRIFECTA
Race 3:  2 / 1-7 / 1-7 for 2500%

Bulgari Rose should've won with the run it had last start over the 2190m but was run down late.  Should lead easily here & dictate terms & back to the 1790m looks the winner.  Springfield Shadow & Markleigh Jill follow inside runs & look likely to fight out the placings

$75WIN
Race 4 No 8 Itmademyday ($2.50)

Been racing against much better opposition and although has had a month or 2 off the scene, looks a class above these with average luck.

CRANBOURNE, SATURDAY 24TH SEPTEMBER

$32 EARLY QUADDIE
1-3-5-8-9-10-12-13 / 1 / 2 / 1-2-6-8 for 100%

Wide open first leg & fingers crossed I haven't missed the roughy.  Fleshing & Reclusive should be winning the middle legs & we round it out with a wide open last leg but I'd be surprised if the winner didn't come from the 4 I've put in

$20WIN/$30PLACE
Race 4 No 1 Artiflash ($6)

Forget it went around in the Vicbred heat last start when it was held up behind tired horses but finished off nicely.  Nice win at Cobram from behind the leader the start prior.  Positions nice & close to the lead here & looks a great value play

$25WIN
Race 6 No 9 Ourgirlbillilee ($4)

Was very stiff not to win first up for the new stable.  Follows through speed & should settle nice & close & the match up with Gavin Lang will suit.

$25WIN
Race 7 No 2 Egodan ($3.75)

Showed a toughness I haven't seen from it before last start when a very good 2nd behind the flying Chilled Desire.  I'm pinning my hopes on Motu Gatecrasher holding out Burnaholeinmypocket, leaving Egodan with the perfect sit behind them both.  I think we'll be getting a much better quote than what Ive quoted.

MELTON, FRIDAY 23RD SEPTEMBER

$50WIN
Race 1 No 11 Mistressofillusion ($3)

Was a lovely trial leading into tonight when it won as it liked.  Does look suited here with Somedreamsomewhere leading and against these I expect to fold at the top of the straight. That’s spells danger for those on the peg line and with Michael Stanley likely to take off first from the back, she should have the ideal ride home.

$50WIN
Race 5 No 4 Stunning Grin ($3)

Did everything but win when a super Kerryn Manning drive got him done 2 starts back.  Trapped 4 pegs from a poor draw last start but was a very good run when only 5 metres off the winner.  Looks like being gifted the lead and with the scratching of Jilliby Jagger, much of the pressure is gone out of the race.  Gets his chance.

$25WIN
Race 8 No 4 Bad Boy Brad ($4)

Wasn't Lance's greatest drive last week but I did like the run even though it finished 7th. Nice win before that at Geelong beating The Fat Man.  Expect a quieter drive tonight with Lance on holidays.  Looks a great value bet.

ECHUCA, THURSDAY 22ND SEPTEMBER

$25WIN
Race 5 No 7 Im Intense ($4)

First up run against Highview Christina was very good when not beaten far in 2nd.  A nice little drop in class tonight and if it had drawn anywhere but gate 7 would start favourite.  Just needs a little luck early to be a huge chance
RESULT:  3rd.  Wouldn't mind a breath test on the driver but did have it's chance

$20WIN/$30PLACE
Race 6 No 7 Times A Bonus ($5)

Did a power of work in quick tiime at Bendigo so the 3rd placing was very good. Back in distance suits & I think the 1 will hold them out early given him the perfect sit on a track he loves.
RESULT: 4th.  Was supported heavily and a 34sec quarter killed it's chances. Ok run.

$50WIN
Race 7 No 3 Captain Snoozzze ($3)

Did too much work at Melton last start but the effort was good to hold 3rd.  Expect Realy Under Fire to spear to the front from the wide draw but it'll hand up over this trip.  First to that position for mine is Captain Snoozzze annd from the top should finally break through
RESULT: WINNER!  No idea how that won with Justice electing go to the peg.  Take it and run.  Collect $140

TERANG, TUESDAY 20TH SEPTEMBER

$20WIN/$30PLACE
Race 3 No 1 Major Scandal  ($6)

Not disgraced of late and returns to his favourite distance here.  Should get the perfect run in the race & looks the value bet of the night

$25WIN
Race 5 No 1 Jacksons Hawk ($4)

Just died on it's run first up but was entitled to with the leaders walking early.  Ideal draw here & likely the 2 favs will put the pressure on here a long way out.  Should suit perfectly.

$25 QUINELLA
Race 5:  1 & 4 for 2500%

Jacksons Hawk as per the above but Mighty Mara looks very hard to beat after a very nice 2nd first up for Kerryn Manning and drops in grade.  Jacksons Hawk should hand up to it and looks a race between the 2.  Risking Looksmachnificent from the draw.

MARYBOROUGH, MONDAY 19th September

$100WIN
Race 1 No 1 Shakahari ($2.20)
Been over a year since it was last on the track and has since changed stables.  Went huge in winning a Shepparton trial in late June beaten some very smart horses.  Great draw & these are weak.  Only concern is the time away from the track
RESULT:  WINNER! Started $1.50 and only got shorter.  $150 collect

$20WIN/$30PLACE
Race 4 No 1 Sheluvsme ($5)

Liked her last start 2nd when lost momentum behind a tiring leader but hit the line very nicely to grab 2nd in a quick last half.  Should be back to 100% fit here & has enough gate speed to hold leaders back here.
RESULT:  WINNER! Had enough speed to hold the lead, just, and was too strong.  Collect $141.

$50WIN
Race 6 No 1 Jimmy The Editor ($2.75)

Been racing very well against better horses.  Usually better over the longer distances but the draw 7 the drop back in class should make up for that & he looks very hard to beat if he can hold the lead.
RESULT:  Lost!  Got attacked the whole trip & was gone at the turn

$50WIN
Race 7 No 5 Metrofromelle ($3)

Was a blackbooker froma Melton M0 when flashing home late from well back.  Hasn't seen a field this easy for a long time .  Should push forward from the draw & although it may not lead I think at worst will settle 1x1 on Kotare York's back.  Her race to lose from there.
RESULT:  WINNER! I was worried when it drifted so much but was a strong winner.  Collect $245

SWAN HILL, SUNDAY 18TH SEPTEMBER

$20WIN/$30PLACE
Race 6 No 1 Nuggetpan ($6)

2 starts back from a spell have been very good & comes back to the track he loves from the perfect draw.  This will be fairly willing early but expect the speed to drop off soon after & I think he'll settle leaders back and get every chance.

MELTON, SATURDAY 17TH SEPTEMBER

$40 TRIFECTA
Race 1: 1-8 / 1-4-8 / 1-4-8-9 for 500%

Abitgoingonhere gets an easy led & his chance here.  Miley Rose gets the gun run on it's back & I'd be surprised if won of them wasn't winning.  Animated and Sirladyn Reba are both flying and are place chances
RESULT:  LOST!  Bernie Winkle knocks us out

$40WIN/$60PLACE
Race 4 No 2 Jo An Leonie ($5)

Was a nice debut after breaking and then was held up at a crucial point last start & should've won for mine.  Has the stablemate on it's inside & for mine that means it slide to the front early and holds.  Thats advantage vs the fav.
RESULT:  2nd.  Great run, looked the winner at the top of the straight but just got knocked off.  Collect $120

SHEPPARTON, FRIDAY 16TH SEPTEMBER

$20WIN/$30PLACE
Race 5 No 8 Its Just Kenny ($6)

Looked a little plain at Bendigo after settling 4 pegs but they did run home in 56.4 secs so no wonder he couldn't pick up ground.  This race is a little easier & should be settling leaders back here.  Great EW show
RESULT:  4th.  My speed map was wrong, ended up 3 pegs but had it's chance to at least place

$20WIN/$30PLACE
Race 6 No 8 Skippy Rascal ($6)

Another that looks to get the perfect sit tonight.  Motu Gatecrasher is a risk from the back row draw so we should get value.  Blew the cobwebs out at the Melton trials during the week behind Grand Circuit performers.  Just needs to be close to fit to be a huge chance here.
RESULT:  4th.  Desperately unlucky..

BALLARAT, THURSDAY 15TH SEPTEMBER

$50WIN
Race 5 No 4 Sandoval ($2.75)

Was in pretty good form in NZ earlier in the season behind the tapes but form tapered off late.  The Butterworths don't bring them across the ditch for no reason & Kerryn Manning has great success with their horses.  I have Gnotuk crossing early & over this distance hands up & that horse for mine is Sandoval.  Best place to be at Ballarat is in front & looks a great chance to break through first up in Oz
RESULT:  2nd. Kicked on the turn, looked home & punctured!

$20WIN/$30PLACE
Race 8 No 3 Surreal Dreamer ($6)

Was last across the line at Melton last start but the run was actually not that bad from a poor draw.  His form prior to that against better fields looks good enough to really test these average horses. His odds half if he was able to cross which for mine he's a 50/50 chance to do so.
RESULT:  LOST!  Don't watch the replay if you haven't seen it

KILMORE, WEDNESDAY 14TH SEPTEMBER

$25WIN
Race 4 No 1 Zaire Diva ($4)

Yes that’s right, I'm turning to the trotters to get some value and I think this mare looks exactly that.  Was unlucky against good opposition when ended up 3 pegs at Melton.  Looks the leader here tonight & there really doesn't look to be any pressure on during the race.  I can see this ending up just being a sprint home down the straight and with her main danger on her back, she's worth a small play

CRANBOURNE, TUESDAY 13TH SEPTEMBER

$30 EARLY QUADDIE
1 / 2-3-6 / 6-7 / 6

Book ending the early quaddie with Precious Desire, who was an eye catcher against much better last start & Vae Victus, who just looks too good against these.  A stand start trot race in the 2nd leg is normally not my go but the race looks pretty thin & I'm taken a small risk in the quaddie narrowing it down to 2.  If we can get the fav rolled in the 2nd & knock over the rest we should be in for a nice collect

Shepparton, SUNDAY 11tH SEPTEMBER

$10WIN/$40PLACE
Race 1 No 7 Illawong Noble ($10)

Risky punt this one as he will restrain early from the wide gate but past 2 runs have been very good.  At Cobram was knocked over but hit the line very nicely after being last at the turn to snag 4th.  Last starrt was knocked over again at the 600 metres and trailed the field by 20 metres before the turn but again found the line very nicely that time in a much stronger field than this. This is only his 5th run and he's improved each time he's stepped out on the track.  Just needs a little luck at what should be big odds.
RESULT:  4th.  Started big unders & the tempo didn't suit at all.  Good run

$50WIN
Race 5 No 1 The Stags Roar ($3)

Should've run a clear 2nd to Vae Victus before breaking half way down the straight at Bendigo.  Perfect draw here to hand up to the right horse & out sprint them late
RESULT:  WINNER!  Got the perfect run off a good speed & looked the winner a long way out. Collect $180

MELTON, SATURDAY 10TH SEPTEMBER

$50WIN
Race 1 No 8 Sullenberger ($4)

Amazing win at Bendigo last week when near last before the turn but out sprinted them in a 56.4 last half.  Not many can do that from that position at Bendigo.  Bad Boy Brad has well since to frank that form. Doesn't look to be a great deal of gate speed off the front row so expect Felecity Funkhouser to hold (watch for change of tactics on Bazza's Art as it can fly the gate) Settling leaders back in what I expect to just be a sprint home he looks real hard to hold out
RESULT:  LOST!  Bazza's Art flies the gate (no COT) and Sullenberger got off but missedthe boat gaining the 3wide trail when Moran lost his goggles in the pouring rain!  What else can go wrong?!?

$30WIN/$70PLACE
Race 2 No 5 Captain Snoozzze ($5)

Wins the heat with luck from a poor draw.  Sneaky chance to cross them early here & looks the each way special of the night
RESULT:  3rd.  Was asked to do a lot.  Nice run to hold 3rd considering.  Collect $119

$20WIN/$30PLACE
Race 6 No 1 Chilled Desire ($6)

She acquitted herself well against some of the best mares in Australia last month & then finished off nicely in an unsuitable race & poor draw.  Gun draw here & can use her gate speed to advantage.  Might hold but I do think she's better with a sit so I'm hoping Michael Bellman will find the right horse to hand up to to give her momentum into the sprint lane
RESULT:  WINNER!  Held them out & as expected, no pressure on throughout & ran the race to suit.  Collect $147

$100WIN
Race 9 No 5 Christmas Jolt ($2)

Forget the Breeders Crown consolation run when never got a look in late but showed at it's previous start his best form isn't far away.  Looks like bullying its way to the front here & he can run 1:54's around Melton over this distance & maybe break it if they leave him alone early. Looks the bet bet on the card
RESULT:  2nd.  Nearly fell on the first turn and loses by a head.

BENDIGO, FRIDAY 9th SEPTEMBER

$50 WORTH OF QUADDIES
$30: 4 / 5 / 10 / 3 for 3000%
$10: 3-12 / 5 / 10 / 3 for 500%
$10: 4 / 5 / 10 / 5-9 for 500%

1st Leg:  Repeat After Me will start very short & ran well from cushy runs.  Might be a little suspect here because will have to work but would be a major surprise to see it roolled.  Danman & Im Lonely the only dangers
2nd Leg:  Three Ways is a very good horse in the making.  Looks like strolling to the front eventually and only bad manners can beat it
3rd Leg:  The moral of the night. Our Star Dust is fulfilling its potential finally with Emma Stewart and should brain these.
4th Leg: The risky leg.  Shady McFly does look the leader and 3rd up does look its race.  Shady Secret however is a smart youngster and even from the death can win.  If they cut at each other, expect Valbarann to be better suited with a sit & is a flukey chance to mow them down if they went nuts.

$50 OF FIRST FOUR's
$40 Race 11: 1 / 3-4 / 3-4 / 2 for 2000%
$10 Race 11: 1 / 3-4 / 2 / 3-4 for 500%

Rocknroll Icon smashed the 2yo track record at Terang on debut.  Enough said.  Hashtag and Patrol The Stars are handy horses and could only win if the fav misbehaved & Rocknroll Eyes gets the gun run but is a level below the above 2. Can sneak 3rd if 3 or 4 work too hard.

MILDURA, THURSDAY 8TH SEPTEMBER

$20WIN/$30PLACE
Race 6 No 2 Finedropofred ($6.50)

Forget last start when poleaxed half way round.  Finally gets the chance to hit the lead first here & likely to take the option to hand up to Youvegotobelieveit with Yarrara Ben very dodgy at the start when pushed. Ultra consistent horse and finally gets a draw to win against suitable class
RESULT:  2nd.  Had it's chance.  Collect $93

GEELONG, WEDNESDAY 7TH SEPTEMBER

RACE 1 FIRST FOUR's
$16: 1 / 8-9 / 2-7-8-9 / 2-7-8-9 for 200%
$8: 8-9 / 1 / 2-7-8-9 / 2-7-8-9 for 100%

Mary Jill joins the Michael Stanley stable here & yes I maybe a little biased but he gets them up & going quickly. From the draw I'd be surprised if she got beat. Anything For Love follows it's every move and can win as well as our last start winner Bet The Limit who has been impressive since coming down from QLD.  Small chances 7 & 9 but I can't see them running top 2. I've left the first starter out from the draw which maybe a little risk but hasn't shown enough at the trials to bother these.

$50WIN
Race 1 No 1 Mary Jill ($2.75)

As per the above keen on her chances with the stable move.  Ran some good races last season, especially from this type of draw.  Gets every chance
RESULT:  Galloped.. No worse result than a pacer that gallops..

$50WIN
Race 6 No 5 Spot Ona Shadow ($2.75)

Form has been ok of late in better races especially considering it hasn't been able to lead.  I expect Tim McLean to come out very hard here & over the short trip looks tough to roll
RESULT:  WINNER!  Early scratching impacted the odds but still $2.30 available on UBET.  Collect $100

Yarra VALLEY, MONDAY 5th SEPTEMBER

$20WIN/$30PLACE
Race 7 No 1 Our Red Sky Night ($6)
Liked both his runs in the C1 series at Melton, probably more so his 2nd when stuck behind the tiring leader at vital stage whilst the outside runners gained momentum.  Not a whole lot of gate speed here so should position leaders back at worst & probably the best scenario is to eventually hand up to Sir Gest.  Slighty up in class but does look the best EW of the day

SHEPPARTON, SUNDAY 4th SEPTEMBER

$25 WIN
Race 6 No 2 Ourgirlbillilee ($4)

She was desperately unlucky throughout her prep last season but she was driven for luck more often than not.  Transfers owner/stable/driver here & from the draw against these, worth a throw at the stumps
RESULT:  2nd.. Ended up 3 pegs and in hindsight might've gone close if it stayed there but the winner (blackbooker) was too good

MELTON, SATURDAY 3RD SEPTEMBER

$40WIN/$60PLACE
Race 7 No 3 Abitgoingonhere ($5)
Should've placed behind Menin Gate last start & was very good behind Stay & Play the week prior.  Ran 1:55.2 mile last month after leading and is going to lead them fairly easily here.  Might be enough to hold off Mister Wickham late.  Worth a crack at the odds.
RESULT:  2nd.  Couldn't hold them out early and was a nice 2nd considering.  Even if it led, I think Mister Wickham would've been too good.  Collect $85.20

KILMORE, FRIDAY 2ND SEPTEMBER

$50WIN
Race 5 No 3 Juilette Bromac ($2.75)

She's starting to cost me a little bit but wow she deserves a win.  Had bugger all luck at Bendigo last start on the back of a very good 4th to Tee Cee Bee Macray & we saw how big he ran on the weekend.  Has the draw advantage & gets her chance tonight
RESULT:  LOST!  Left in the death but was disappointing

BENDIGO, THURSDAY 1ST SEPTEMBER

$10WIN/$40PLACE
Race 7 No 8 Hellfire Angel ($8)
Pretty sure this is a horse I said never again to just over 2 months ago but here I am. 4 starts back nearly pinched it off a cold sit from 4 pegs & the last 2 runs in stand starts have been very good.  I expect the 1 to hold the lead here & it was disappointing late at Melton & expect Yackandandah to put the pressure on from the death.  Bendigo is the perfect track for tthe sprint lane winner & will get its chance late.  Josh Duggan on no loss either
RESULT:  Lost!

CHARLTON, WEDNESDAY 31ST AUGUST

$20WIN/$30PLACE
Race 6 No 5 Sukovia ($5)
Needs a few things to go right to win usually but this is as weak as he's seen it for some time & there is a huge chance Lauper leads & hands up today.  Thats exactlly what I expect Alford to do earlly & give this fella its best chance to return to the winners list since October
RESULT:  LOST!  Death seated and weakened late

BALLARAT, WEDNESDAY 31ST AUGUST

$20WIN/$30PLACE
Race 6 No 10 Swiftly Tothebeach ($8)

Had a disappointing end to it's prep in NSW and was sent out for a spell in May.  Has gone to the trials for a win at Melton where she wasn't push out at all so plenty of scope for improvement.  I think the 2 favourites here are at risk with Cherish The Moment likely to be crossed & Jilliby Jitterbug suspect over the trip. That'll leave Ideal Eagle likely to death seat.  Makes all 3 vulnerable for mine and I'm happy to play Swiftly at what should be value odds for a smart horse.
RESULT:  LOST!  Never a chance punters and that in hindsight was a poor tip.

TERANG, TUESDAY 30TH AUGUST

$10WIN/$40PLACE
Race 6 No 7 All Honour ($7.50)

Seems the stewards missed that he galloped early at Terang last start but I haven't & I really liked they way he finished off to finish 6th but only 7 metres off 2nd.  Has been very consistent this time in against better fields & the draw isn't as bad as it looks because it has no early speed anyway.  Gate speed will come from wide on the track here and some on their inside maybe trying to create some as there are some pretty weak leaders in this race.  Has been 2 and a half years between wins though so more heavily weighted bet on the place.
RESULT:  LOST!  Frustrating run.  The pace was on as expected but kept running into road blocks.

COBRAM, MONDAY 29TH AUGUST

$25WIN
Race 3 No 3 Diamond Rock ($4)

Should finished a whole lot closer than it did last start after copping 2 checks in the race.  Nice draw & could find itself leaders back as the 1 seems to have little gate speed.

RESULT:  LOST!  Got stuck in the death and had to do too much work

$20WIN/$30PLACE
Race 6 No 9 Immortal Jet ($6.50)

Liked the way he finished off late last start at Shepparton & should've finished closer off a soft run.  Gets a similar run here today with the scratching of the emergency & I think there is a 50% chance that Tally Operator can hold the lead today. Looks the value bet of the meeting
RESULT:  LOST!  Emergency wasn't scr and gained a run.  That was a killer as it lost its peg line run.  Was a good run though.

$50WIN
Race 7 No 12 Willem ($2.75)

Has been chasing home some very smart horses in quick closing halves the past 2 starts and this is a more suitable assignment.  Our Bushwaker my main concern but Willem looks the value bet
RESULT:  WINNER!  Very confident drive by Bec Bartley and deserved the win.  Collect $275

RACE TO ROYALTY - BREEDERS CROWN DAY

POGGA'S BETS

$50 PLACE
Race 4 No 9 Match In Heaven
RESULT:  2nd!  Geez, give him another 10 metres and he goes close to winning!  Collect $130

$50 PLACE
Race 5 No 9 Rockstar Angel

RESULT:  3rd!  Heavens Trend getting crossed early was a huge surprise and to snag 3rd from where he settled in the run was an enormous effort.  Unfortunately the closing odds for the site were crap but hopefully a few of you snapped up the juicier odds.  Collect $113

$40 TRIFECTA
RACE 5:  1 / 8 - 9 / 5 - 8 - 9 for 1000%
RESULT:  LOST!  Faith in the fav cost me

$40WIN/$60PLACE

Race 8 No 4 Bet The Limit ($2.75)
First up in Victoria and was a huge run against some very nice animals. Settle last off the back of a slow first half and neaely grabbed them late.  Has gate speed & can either lead or settle close enough to be very hard to beat here..
RESULT:  WINNER!  Led & got the job done!  Collect $150

MELTON, FRIDAY 26th August

$20WIN/$30PLACE
Race 8 No 1 Art I Special ($8)

Driven upside down in a similar race last week & considering the tough run it had, held on well.  Should settle leaders back here & get every opportunity late. TAB $16 when posting this.  Looks an EW special
RESULT: 2nd.  Smashed into $4.80 closing after opening $16 TAB.  Was stiff.. Collect $75

MILDURA, FRIDAY 26TH AUGUST

$20WIN/$30PLACE
Race 6 No 10 Good Onya ($10)

Couldn't get into the race over the short trip last start but finished off nicely in a 28.8sec last quarter.  Performs his best over the 2190metres and there are some very weak leaders in this race.  No doubt Hero Bromac will be tough to beat from the death but with a likely trail into this on Slims Kitchens back, Good Onya is the value bet
RESULT:  LOST!  Forget it ran.  The drive on Slims Kitchen was first class.

Geelong, THURSDAY 25TH AUGUST

$30 TRIFECTA
Race 7:  4 / 1 / 2-8-9 for 1000%

Sheluvsme is a maiden but ran some very nice races in her first prep.  Returns here on the back of a very nice trial win at August last week.  Should work her way to the front & be too good.  Jilliby Jetta was run off her legs over the short trip at Terang but was solid to the line.  Thought her debut run was good enough to be clear 2nd pick especially if she holds the favourites back.  2-8-9 round out the chances with the debutant  8 the one to watch at odds.
RESULT: LOST!  Close but nowhere near it if that makes sense.  The 8 wins at $71..

SHEPPARTON, WEDNESDAY 24TH AUGUST

$25WIN
Race 1 No 8 Grinlikeastar ($4)

Crying out to win a race after a couple of nice placings.  I reckon there is a 70-80% chance the 2 holds the lead here over the short distance & for mine thats enough for Grinlikeastar to salute via the sprint lane. Just watch out for any change of tactics on the 2.
RESULT: LOST!  Still looking for a run

$50WIN
Race 7 No 1 Glory Daze ($3)

Just missed picking up the very smart Highview Ruler last week from a similar draw.  That race had a touch more depth than this race does and from the draw at this track holds all the aces.
RESULT:  WINNER!  Not great for the heart but the money is in the bank.  Collect $180

KILMORE, TUESDAY 23RD AUGUST

$25 PLACE
Race 1 No 9 Vintage Gate ($3)

Checked and broke early on debut but went to the line with something in reserve albeit in slowish time.  Follows through the likely favorite here and is a sneaky place chance at what should be huge odds.
RESULT:  LOST!  Galloped and that was that

$10WIN/$40PLACE
Race 2 No 1 Katsina ($8)

Has to be said, hasn't been driven well at all over this prep but admittedly from poor draws.  No excuses today against a beatable field.  Should settle leaders back & be close enough to out sprint them late
RESULT:  2nd.  Allergic to winning, just missed but had every possible chance.  Collect $104

$20WIN/$30PLACE
Race 7 No 2 Mister Manhattan ($6)

Last 2 starts out of claiming grade you can forget although not disgraced.  He was in very good form against slightly stronger claiming grade than this in June & Chris Alford back on is a huge bonus.  Goes close with even luck

MELTON, SUNDAY 21st AUGUST

Race 7 No 4 With Gusto ($5)

Not much went right early last start but was a good run in very quick time.  Has run some absolute ripping aces over the past month and gets his chance to finally cross them tonight.  Goes close
RESULT:  4th.  Every possible chance.  Very disappointing run

$20WIN/$30PLACE
Race 8 No 4 Dance Of Fire ($5)

Real strong placing from the back row draw last week.  Can push forward ^& lead today but even if not settles close to the lead in the weakest class of horse its met in some time
RESULT:  Lost!  Awful drive, never given a chance

Bendigo, Saturday 20th August

$36 FIRST FOUR
Race 1: 1-4 / 1-2-4-8 / 1-2-4-8 / 1-2-3-4-8-11 for 100%

The early speed will hold the key to this race but anyway I look at it, Heavens Trend and My Mackenzie have it between them.  Rockstar Angel will get a nice peg run and DancingwithSierra chances improve greatly if it can cross so must go in.  Whirly School and Get into The Groove are both class horse but rough chances only.

$10WIN/$40PLACE
Race 9 No 6 Juiliette Bromac ($10)
Wasn't far behind the best mares in Oz last prep & has returned this prep without having much luck.  Nice run last start against the lads when only 3.4metres off TCB Macray.  It's chances hinge on whether Josh goes forward early or not here but he has to with not an overly fast or strong front line & should find a position handy to the lead.  Going to need luck but going to be massive odds tonight & worth the gamble.

Melton, FriDAY 19th August

$20WIN/$30PLACE
Race 1 No 5 Highview Christina ($5)

Im not often critical of Mick Stanley's drives and maybe Ive got it wrong last start but whether it was allowed to go too fast or pulled its way around in front. either way, it just went too fast in front last start.  Should find the start easily tonight and Im happy to take Menin Gate on from the draw
RESULT:  LOST!  Gallops before the start & we're out before the race starts

$30WIN/$70PLACE
Race 4 No 8 Art I Special ($5)

Not sure what happened last start but happy to forget but should've gone very close in a better race with 2 starts back.  Strong win off a cold sit at Stawell 3 starts back.  With luck, I just think he's better than them.
RESULT:  4th.  Ahhhh Jason..  She's a sit sprinter & he's decided to sit in the death outside the free wheeling claimer.  Big run but just misses a place

$50WIN
Race 10 No 1 Big Bang Leonard ($3)

Won with ease at Geelong when able to lead throughout at Geelong a couple of starts ago.  Not a bad 4th when in the death last start.  Should lead throughout here although I'm a little worried that with the stablemate drawn 2 it'll hand up.  If they're serious about winning it holds & wins.
RESULT:  4th.  It held the lead & was very weak indeed.

Swan Hill, Thursday 18th August

$50WIN
Race 7 No 1 Speedy Love ($2.75)

Was a little disappointing last start after the race looked set up for it on the turn but just plodded home.  That was in C2/4 class & drops back to C1 here.  No excuses & the biggest question mark is on Enter The Sandman first up for Paddy Lee.  Happy to take it on.

RESULT:  Lost!  Obviously not a leader. Every chance

Shepparton, Thursday 18th August

$20WIN/$30PLACE
Race 7 No 1 Eliska ($6)

Got out too late last week in the heat of this race but finished off nicely.  Gets the gun run here & with Mister Zhivago susceptible late & Colleens Melody drawn poorly, she'll get her chance
RESULT:  4th.  She did & was plain late

Terang, Wednesday 17th August

$20WIN/$30PLACE
Race 1 No 2 Cullectngo ($6)

Ive tipped this mare a few times now without her crossing the line first but has placed for us at odds on occasion.  Don't think we'll get huge odds this time but she looks ideally suited against opposition that doesn't get much weaker.  Only 1.6m off Imajulllian 3 starts back & 2metres off Mairhed Fallen (2nd) 2 back which is fantastic form for this.  Forget it went around last start when it had no luck but no luck is a pattern with her.  They can afford to drive more aggressively tonight.

Cranbourne, Tuesday 16th AUGUST

$50WIN
Race 5 No 4 Morning Major ($4)
Loved the way he hit the line from a mile back at Yarra Valley, tough to do at that track.  Gets the draw advantage on it's main rivals tonight as well as Greg Sugars onboard.
RESULT:  3rd.  Forget the race.  Was a major fall in the first take & the race was rerun.

MARYBOROUGH, Monday 15th AUGUST

$20WIN/$30PLACE
Race 7 No 8 Witzend ($5)

Hasn't had a lot of luck recently in good races but probably had it's chance late last start in another strong placing.  Going back to it's effort at this track & distance behind the tapes when 2nd behind Bernie Winkle, when off 30metres. (Yes back in March)  They walked early in that and Witzend had to come from a long way back and had no right to finish as close as it did.  Off the 20m today & with Mojo Major & High Tech Fury in this race today, expect a more genuine speed on throughout.  Gets it's chance today if that happens.

RESULT:  2nd!  Great drive just struggles to win.  Collect $54

Shepparton, Sunday 14th August

$50WIN
Race 2 No 3 The Last Cullect ($2.80)

Just pulled too hard over the longer trip after doing work early.  Previous runs with new stable was good for this.  Should spear straight to the front here & over the sprint, it's his to lose.
RESULT:  WINNER!  Not the way I planned after the longshot decided to hold the lead but got the run of the race and was a little too good.  Collect $200

$20WIN/$30PLACE
Race 6 No 8 Eliska ($6)

She won't know herself in this class, dropping back from C2/3 class.  She hasn't been disgraced from poor draws of late & was a nice 3rd behind Felicity Funkhouser whose has worked through to a C5.  Last win was from 3 pegs in a C1, exactly where she'll end up tonight.  With Real Knucky in front & likely pressure from Hezthebigbopper a fair way out, she just needs room to roll them late
RESULT:  2nd.  Wasn't expecting Real Knucky to hand up the lead but the favourite galloping handed us 2nd.  Collect $60

Melton, Saturday 13th August

$20WIN/$30PLACE
Race 1 No 11 Arber ($8)

Was very plain over the sprint trip last start but I think the switch to claimers is the right one.  Has most of these covered on class alone & looks like getting the 3wide trail into the race if Outrageous El goes forward early to the death as expected.  Some very big odds available against very beatable opposition
RESULT:  LOST! Happy to forget it went around.  Nothing from back in the field made ground.

$25 TRIFECTA
Race 3:  1 / 9 / 8 for 2500%

Looks Like Heaven looks a smart horse on the rise & from the draw looks unbeatable.  A Poggaharness favourite, Glenferrie Blade draws poorly yet again but she'll find the death once the speed settles & make it a 2 horse race.  Many will fall into Jabari to hold 2nd but for mine, even with a sit behind the favourite, cant see it getting past Glenferrie Blade up the straight.  The race looks light on outside them.
RESULT:  LOST!  Oh dear... Glenferrie Blade monstered them...

Ballarat, FRIDAY 12th AUGUST

$50WIN
Race 6 No 3 Match In Heaven ($2.75)

Went super in the QLD Derby after drawing the back row over the staying distance.  Was an impressive winner over the sprint distance at Menangle prior to that in good time.  Has gate speed, not electric but maybe enough to beat King Of The Stars to the lead.  If that occurs, he's the one to beat.  We're in trouble if its the other way round but I think it's worth the risk as I think we'll be getting much better odds than what I've put up.
RESULT:  3rd.  I read the race like a book & then Nathan Jack takes us on mid race & we hand up!  Doesn't & we win for mine.

Mildura, Friday 12th August

$10WIN/$40PLACE
Race 6 No 1 Speedy Love ($10)

You can pretty much forget it's gone around over the past month, striking traffic everywhere it's gone.  Settles closer today settling on what should be leaders back, even though the former NZer is likely to be very hard to beat, happy to take it on 1st up around Mildura
RESULT:  4th.  Looked a live chance at huge odds before the turn but did nothing

Five Star Anvil far too good for these.  Road To Rock looks the leader but will have to put up with the fav's pressure at some point and Mactavish will be running on at them late.  Altana Blue is running well against easier but should get a cozy trip and can sneak a place
RESULT:  LOST!  Mactavish & Altana Blue looked to have 3rd & 4th sewn up on the turn but couldn't finish it off.

Race 4 No 11 Astride ($2.75)

I've got plenty of time for this 2yo colt. Has run into 2 Tritton speed machines it's past 2 & acquitted himself very nicely in both runs, last start having to death seat in a 53.9s last half.  I think he's just better than these tonight and the backrow draw just gives us value

Looks a match race but if the 2 favs cut at each other, one of them could puncture.  Sammy's Luck the best roughy if he can squeeze onto the 2's back early.
RESULT:  The 2 was scratched but the 1st trifecta still was a play at 200% with the scr.  Sammys Luck very ordinary.  Lost $12

Race 6 No 6 Mor Laag ($5)

Love the way this bloke is racing.  Had no right to win after racing extremely hard at Cranbourne & then another tough run when 2nd from the death last start, outstaying Gozo Lightning the likely leader here.  Not a whole lot going on mid race for mine here so should be able to control the race to it's liking from there & be very hard to beat
RESULT:  LOST!  Not a great drive & beaten a long way

Ballarat, Saturday 6th August

$25WIN
Race 1 No 10 Yeah Right ($4)
Never ever going to win last start but was a very strong claimer & Show Heeza Classic (2nd) has won impressively since.  A front row draw would've been nice but I think at around the $4 mark, he's the value beat against weaker claimers.
$25WIN

Race 5 No 5 Illawong Bella ($4)
Thought her run was good in the heat after working extremely hard early,  Not a whole heap of speed underneath her, and even though her chances will be hurt if she doesn't cross, I think she will and go very close.

Looks an almost identical race to the one Secret Delight won from the same gate 3 starts back.  Exact same scenario plays out here with Charissa Tee death seating & Good Onya leaders back.  Hard to see those back in the field have an impact as they'll settle quickly in this & walk.  Royal Icing and Nancy Jean the only other hopes

RESULT:  LOST!  Well, if you haven't watched the race, we were in the queue with 20m to go until Charissa Tee tripped over her own feet!  Numbers, 1-7-8..

Race 8
No 6 My Sophisticated Lady ($4)
2nd in what can only be described as a weird race at Ballarat last week.  They ran a 2 second quicker lead time than the fast class so no wonder they walked home. Certainly no disgrace in finish 2nd to Apache Shark, albeit by a margin.  No Apache Shark here & no doubt a couple of question marks on the 1 & 8 who'll be heavily fancied.  She's a chance to cross early so happy to have a small play at odds.
RESULT:  LAST!  Led, had an easy run and thought we were in the queue before the turn but there was nothing in the tank. Terrible run.

Echuca, Wednesday 3rd AUGUST

$20WIN/$30PLACE
Race 5 No 8 Fanagalo ($5)

Has been outclassed its past month but been running well enough to figure against these.  Its race at this track and distance is a good form reference when 3rd behind Mirior Invictus.  That horse led that night and draws outside backrow here.  A drop back to C2/3 here is ideal with many of his opposition stepping up in grade tonight.  Looks the class runner but warning, is a sit sprinter and needs the right cart into it to win.  Worth a risk at the EW odds.
RESULT:  LOST!  Very plain run. No excuses

$50WIN
Race 6 No 1 Sweet Aces ($3)

Has been racing extremely well in unsuitable races of late.  Broke 1:59 last mile at this track & distance from the death on the 30th of June & I have it leading here tonight. Would've been may best bet of the month to date without the unknown factor of Immortal Jet who was near legless before joining the Laura Crossland stable.  Won by 14m at Wagga hard held in slowish time but the improvement was extraordinary for the new stable.  Still I'm happy to take it on & hope the punters fall into it.
RESULT:  WINNER!  Was tested early & still too strong late.  She's tough as nails.  Collect $150

Bendigo, Tuesday 2nd August

Race 7 No 9 Hezthebigbopper ($4)

Outclassed in the Vicbred last start over a month ago but has tuned up for this with a very nice trial win,  His form over the sprint distance looks worse than it is as he's broke 2 times over the short distance so maybe more suited than it seems.  With the scratching of the 2, gets a lovely trail through early & I'm expecting the 1 & 2 to cut at each other throughout which is the perfect scenario for the Bopper.
RESULT:  2nd.  Looked the winner at the top of the straight but outsprinted late

Geelong, Sunday 31st July

$20WIN/$30PLACE
Race 5 No 8 Village Safari ($6)

Dragged out of it behind a tiring leader last start, outclassed at Melton prior to that, but it's was his early July late June runs that caught my eye against similar opposition.  With Jabari likely to be scr, I can't see Alford handing up tonight as the only hand up looks like Punchinello who is another hand up horse.  That'll leave Village leaders back & very hard to beat with average luck
RESULT:  2nd.  Modern Ville just couldn't get us to the sprint lane!!  Collect $81

Cranbourne, Saturday 30th July

$25WIN
Race 5 No 3 Two For Sixty ($5)

Race 6 No 6 Anything For Love ($3)

Gave Mercurian the run by a few starts ago at Bendigo and has been up against it its past 2 starts.  This is as weak a race it has seen in some time and can go for today and take cover close to the lead.  Looks mighty hard to beat with average luck

She was a forget run after being held behind a tiring leader. Really keen on her chances here based on my speed map.  Settles on Hu Hu R U's back here who I cant see handing up to the favourite with Lance onboard.  Mark Pitt will no doubt have a look and try & keep that pressure on throughout.  I can see those 3 kick away from the rest and with Juliette having the last crack at them, looks the value in the race.  Only 2 place div but keen she can run top 2 at least.

Race 8 No 8 Chirpy Chuckles ($8)

C3 up against C6-8's here looks tough but had a similar task last start and ran a great 2nd.  My speed map has Im Alex holding tonight which means Chirpy gets the gun run leaders back.  Not sure if he's good enough to run them down but I'm expecting big odds & worth the risk to find out.
RESULT:  LOST!  Not sure why Burns came away from the fence early but also don't think it made a difference.

I think the first to the pegs here gains a huge advantage & having yet to see Ideal Eagle gate speed here as yet, Livingston Bay could cross & cause a boilover here.  Willem the obvious danger but this is a slight step up in class and over the extra distance I'm happy to risk.  Scipio has it's work cut out for it from the draw but has to go in and Romantic Gesture was a better run than what it looks on paper and can snag 4th placing here.  Fingers crossed we can get the fav rolled & a decent collect.
RESULT:  LOST!  The longshot spears to the front and puts us out..

Race 7 No 3 Rocky Carrington ($7)

Blackbooker from last start after taking ground off some smart horses late.  Looks to be a lot of speed on early here & I can see him being put into the race once the dust settles.  Hoping he either death seats or take cover after making a 3 wide move.  He is a grinder so just needs to be up there before the turn to be a chance

Race 6 No 9 Macha ($2.50)
His task was near impossible in the final of the Winter Championship after doing most of his work 3 wide without cover in a 57.4s first half & no wonder he was spent late but still not beaten far.  Perfect time for him to step up to the 2200 metres where he can settle & make a move to the death at the right time outside Uroc Mman.  If anyway near his best he'll bully this lot from there.
RESULT:  LOST!  Got to the death as expected but for what ever reason, Josh Aiken let him roll from then on & there was nothing left in the tank.  Big win by the leader though & I think regardless he loses.

Yarra Valley, Monday 25th July

Race 8 No 3 Greenough ($5)

Pulled up last start when suffered
cardiac arrythmia.  Has won a trial since so best to forget that.  Was OK against better the start prior but it was his runs at Cranbourne in June against much better opposition that took my eye.  Tenfour is extremely risky at the start & I can see this fella lead them today.  No better place to be at Yarra Valley.
RESULT:  5th.  Couldn't cross but did have a nice sit throughout in the 1x1 but not going 3 wide when the runs came was costly.  To rub it in other blackbookers run 1st & 3rd.

Race 4 No 2 Crazy Dave ($11)

Hasn't had the best of luck in recent times and was a very nice 4th against a similar field last week.  Drawn to follow Beach Shack's every move here and is the best roughy of the night
RESULT:  LAST!  Very poor run, no where near it's past month.  Might be claimer time

Forget it ran in the Vicbred final when got shuffled but in the pack.  Should roll to the top here & with his main danger on his outside, he holds the aces.

Race 10 No 8 Imajullian ($8)

Loved the way he hit the line in the heat of this race for 4th in a race that really suited the front runners.  Has a couple of options from the draw & without a strong leader in the race, should be every chance for the swoopers.
RESULT:  WINNER! We owe a bit to John Justice & Josh Aiken but that why the early odds were as good as they were.  Best on TAB was $11 but Sportsbet punters got $26 if they were quick enough.  Collect $286

Yes I'm going with the non winner again but when very well when beating most of this last week finishing 2nd.  The 2 favs aren't the most trustworthy horses & this bloke will be over the odds again tonight.  Worth the risk

6. JUSTALILBITGREEK:  Greg Sugars stays on but the draw is a worry & do they run a 31 second last quarter again here tonight?  Not for mine.

Race 4 at 6:55 PM
1. DEAREST:  Was a real nice trial winner at Shepparton but the time was questionable when lining up against this class of horse.  Worth a couple of bucks ew if getting out to ridiculous odds.

Melton, Thursday 21st July

$20WIN/$30PLACE
Race 5 No 5 Surreal Dreamer ($7)

Can't take a trick over the past month or so, especially last start when held up in traffic at this track & distance against similar class but finished off well.  He has ran some huge races over the sprint trip, especially with Chris Alford onboard who drives today.  Even ran the smart Shadow Play to 2 metres at Geelong in February.  Expect Alford to come out firing & if he can cross will go very close.
RESULT:  5th.  Couldn't cross & had to death seat but very surprised he let the struggling horse 3wide cross.  Never going to win though.

KILMORE, Thursday 21st July

$50WIN
Race 6 No 3 Big Bang Leonard ($3.50)

Hasn't had the draw to suit since running into Heavens Trend over a month ago when a strong 2nd.  Leads on it's ear for mine and tonight has no better opportunity to return to the winners list for the first time since November 2014.  Michael Bellman onboard a massive plus
RESULT:  4th.  Unfortunately the stablemates driver ruined it, who actually owns them both.  Staggering.  The less said the better

Bendigo, WEDNESDAY 20th July

$25WIN
Race 1 No 4 Black Coyote ($4)

Had zero luck the past 2 starts but was an impressive winner 3 starts back at Shepparton beating Tally Operator who was very good at Cobram.  Can afford to be a little more aggressive early here in what looks to be an average speed off the front line and hand up horses on his inside.  Hopefully Ron Wicks agrees, leads & proves too strong.
RESULT:  4th.  Had his chance, outclassed.

$20WIN/$30PLACE
Race 2 No 10 Party Boy ($5)

Slowly working it's way back into form & was a good 3rd when not suited by having gone 3 wide without cover in a 28.1 3rd quarter at this track & distance behind Warfare.  With Cashisking likely to ping the start here, Felicity Funkhouser & Time Capsule are in danger of getting crossed & buried here which puts the back row horses right in this.  Whatever happens expect Kate Gath to sum it up pretty quickly & put this fella into the race as soon as possible.
RESULT:  2nd.  Beaten a pimple.  Great drive Kate Gath, winner just a little too good.  Collect $45

Stawell, Wednesday 20th July

$20WIN/$30PLACE
Race 5 No 9 Forever And A Day ($6)

Nice 2nd last start in probably it's career best run behind Crowning Glory.  Settles behind Macterra Hawk here, who against this class, is likely to hold the lead. It's vulnerable late when leading giving Forever And A Day every chance late.  Jason Lee onboard is enough for me to have a play.  $11 BET365 when writing this.
RESULT:  WINNER!!  Hopefully some still have access to BET365.  Race turned out exactly as planned.  Exacta pays $11 which in hindsight would've been the value play!  Collect $145

$50WIN
Race 6 No 3 Champagne Taste ($3.75)

Was out sprinted by the horse with the easier run last start via the sprint lane but had All Perfection covered who it meets today from similar draws.  Jason Lee jumps off his stables horse Truth And Courage to drive.  Leads & goes mighty close.
RESULT:  WINNER!  Just held on but doesn't matter how far they win by.  BET365 $5 $3.65 best of the others.  Collect $145

$20WIN/$30PLACE
Race 8 No 1 Miss Livewire ($7)

Darren Cole has done wonders with this 8yo mare this prep & there was no better effort than a death seating 3rd at Bendigo last start.  She'd usually throw in the towel with that type of run but she responded extremely well to hold 3rd.  Up in class today and the start is mighty important here as it needs to hold the 2 out to ensure she doesn't end up 3 pegs but I think she can and receive a nice trail leaders back.  Her sprint is as good as any of these, just needs to be close enough to them on the turn

RESULT:  LOST!  Didn't handle the step up in class.

Cranbourne, Tuesday 19th july

$50 TRIFECTA
Race 1: 2 / 9 / 1 for 5000%

Stuover leads and win based on it's 1st up run.  Royal Delight sits leaders back and gets every possible chance to hold out the rest.  Franco Jameson is likely to restrain and go to the death but it's a clear 2nd pick.  Should be around a $4 trifecta but I'd suggest playing mid tote
RESULT:  LOST!  The 1 galloped before the start & the bet was gone before the race started.

$50WIN
Race 2 No 5 Takeachanceonharry ($2.75)
Has done plenty of work over the sprint trips the past 2 and has been very good.  Should've won at this track & distance 3 starts back & the step back up to that distance tonight looks ideal.  Looks too strong for mine
RESULT:  WINNER! Easy winner & well backed.  Unfortunately $2.40 the best I could find.  $2.70 BET365.  Collect $115

$10WIN /$40PLACE
Race 5 No 8 Feel The Buzz ($8)
Stiff not to finish much closer in the heat of this race last start. Will end up 3 pegs here and just needs his stable to get out of the way in a enough time to be a chance.  Should be over the odds.
RESULT:  2nd.  Got out too late and hit the line well late but never beating the winner.  $4.40 the place on offer for those early shopppers.  Collect $115.60

Race 6 No 8 Dominate The Dojo ($5)

Finished off OK in 4th behind the very smart Ryley Major in a quick 56.7 second last half after pulling hard throughout.  That was the bronze final of the Vicbred. Go back to the 1st of June and he was a good 3rd behind Apache Shark in a similar position he'll face today but the field is weaker.  Looks a great ew play
RESULT:  3rd.  Had it's chance.  Collect $45

Race 4 No 7 Our Little General ($2.75)

Was HUGE in the Vicbred final & with another 10 metres wins.  The draw just gives us value here if you ask me.  The 1 is still unproven against this type of horse & Im real happy to take it on especially over the 2240metres

$40WIN/$60PLACE

Race 5 No 3 Chilli Palmer ($5)
Had no right to finish 2nd last week and ran home in 55.18 for his last half in a race that had no pace early. 3rd up tonight should be cherry ripe for a race that looks to have a whole heap of pace on throughout which should suit his finishing burst.

$10WIN/$20PLACE
Race 6 No 10 All Done Up ($10)

I've got plenty of time for this filly.  Did what she had to on debut when winning at Melton and then broke in the heat of the APG but followed up with a very nice 3rd in the consolation.  Tough ask from the back row but looks to be a very quick front line & some of these maybe found wanting the first time over 2240metres.  If she can grab a trail into it her sprint can match these.  Best roughy of the night.

kilmore, Friday 15th July

$20WIN/$30PLACE
Race 1 No 3 Our Miss Vivienne ($7)

Her form on paper looks ordinary but she's racing very well without luck but she is driven that way.  Never saw daylight at Cranbourne last start so forget & the start prior was a fast finishing 2nd at Ballarat again after being held up.  Speed map is critical here & I think That Chill Devine will speed to the front here but it's hopeless over the longer distance leaving Diamond Castle on it's back.  Does usually hand up & Justice may have a sneaky look but can sit and out sprint them as well.  Should be good value.

Mildura, Friday 15th July

$21 TRIFECTA
Race 4: 2-7 / 2-6-7 / 3-6-7 for 300%

Charissa Tee was a very good 2nd in the heat last week & the turn around in draws this week gives it the advantage.  Hard to see it getting rolled but the one that might will be stalking it's every move in Left For Ron.  Very nice win in the heat and just needs luck late to be right in the finish.  Good Onya has gone to another level in the Sunraysia & can figure from the wide draw with luck.  Secret Delight won for us last week but it's a bit one dimensional and I cant see it leading today.  Rough place chance only.  Its a pretty thin race chances wise so hopefully a nice collect on the cards

Charlton, Thursday 14th July

We were on last start and he just had no luck.  Looks likely to lob leaders back here & gets every chance

Melton, Wednesday 13th July

$20WIN/$30PLACE
Race 2 No 6 Future Operator ($5)
Stiff not to get closer last start behind the tapes at Maryborough against a similar field.  Won in similar circumstances at this track last month also.  The 10metre handicap might be a blessing in disguise as he should follow the early leaders through & he's usually quicker away than his main danger Virginia Lightning so I can see him being left in front here.  Just need a little luck early & a huge EW show.

$50WIN
Race 7 No 8 Four Starzzz Foursa ($3)

Was touted as a future topline star in his 2yo season but just hasn't come on.  Had plenty of excuses in the Vicbred but was never going to line up against the top 3yo's.  Nice drop back in class here & 7metres off the likes of Brallo's Pass is good form for this.  With Lance Justice drawing outside front row you can guarantee this race is going to be willing early on which helps no end.  Should restrain early and come at them with one sprint.  His best wins this.

Bendigo, Tuesday 12th July

$100WIN
Race 5 No 2 Courtney John ($2.75)

Yes I said no more shorties but I'm expecting to get a whole heap more than what I've put up here.  He hasn't been suited in recent runs off the back row & never put into the race.  Looks like hitting the pegs first here & handing up to Realy Under Fire.  Exactly the position he was in when smashing Vicbred finalists Bodacious Fury and Vapar Grin.  That form wins this & with his main dangers on the back row, he just needs to get to the sprint lane to beat these.
RESULT:  WINNER!  Been too long since a plan has come together but that one did somehow.  Collect $330 ($3.90 available on BETFAIR)

Motu Gatecrasher looks near impossible to beat but if there is one that can beat it first up it's Terror Man who will stalk it's every move.  Nickys Idol looks the only other chance if my speed map it correct, it should settle 1x1 & hold 3rd.
RESULT:  Lost!  Very ordinary Terror Man..

Cobram, Monday 11th July

$20WIN/$30PLACE
Race 6 No 8 Bridie Hanover ($8)

Forget last start when she got right out her ground when the 2 good 3yo leaders took off.  Has been extremely unlucky her previous runs.  She's a horse that needs luck & why she's yet to register a win from 31 starts but she's been placed in 14 of them.  Key today is to hold the leaders back.  If she can, more of a $4 chance from there.
RESULT:  3rd.  Was probably a little unlucky but usually is.  Collect $87

$20WIN/$30PLACE
Race 7 No 4 Miss Deyo ($7)

3yo filly mixing it with the older horses here.  Shouldn't have got as close as she did to a couple of nice 3yo's last start after they walked through the first half.  Nice run.  Misbehaved 2 starts back when pulled extremely hard before taking off very early 3 wide without cover & the effort told late but wan't beaten far in 3rd.  This is as good as she's met but I think she needs a nice tempo to figure & I think there is no doubt they'll run along in this.
RESULT:  4th.  They did run along & she got the perfect trail into the race, just not good enough

Melton, Saturday 9th July

$30WIN/$70PLACE
Race 1 No 1 Half Crown Gap ($5)

Such a consistent horse.  Loved his run at Echuca last start after having to come wide late.  Perfect draw & has enough speed to hold & hand up to who it likes.  Great EW punt
RESULT:  AWFUL..  Thought he was a massive chance when he got the run before the turn but went backwards at a rate of knots.

$20WIN/$30PLACE
Race 3 No 10 Might Be Luck ($6)

Had none at Kilmore but finished off OK.  Looks better suited here tonight in the bigger field & can outsprint them late with the right drag into it.

$50PLACE
Race 7 No 5 Bazza's Art ($2.50)

Ran a couple of great races out of his grade behind TCB Macray in recent start.  Really hoping that Dapper Don flies the gate here & he follows across & the lead just maybe his.  Brings his form from the previous 2 starts & he's a great place chance
RESULT:  4th.  Moral place bet goes begging.  Held up by a tiring horse but he finished off nicely once out.  He'll be winning soon

Ballarat, Friday 8th July

$20WIN/$30PLACE
Race 1 No 11 Major Laugh ($6)

Its run at Horsham earlier this week wasn't as bad as it looks on paper.  Was 3 wide without cover in a lightning last half after the leaders got it easy early.  Looks to pace on in this early & in claiming class for the first time & it should suit.
RESULT:  2nd.  Looked the winner on the turn but couldn't finish it off.. Collect $90

Mildura, Friday 8th July

$50WIN
Race 3 No 1 Secret Delight ($3)

Was just OK last start but he's a leader only horse.  Last time he manged to do that he was beaten by a Short Half Head by Good Onya who settles on his back here.  That was due to a 28 second 3rd quarter as the fav was death seating.  That won't happen here & should control the race to suit.

Went super at Kilmore from a similar draw behind Brallos Pass & Spiritwriter when 3rd.  Followed that up with a forget run in the Semi Final of the Vicbred when it got knocked over on the pegs and lost all chance.  Great draw here should see him in front & have options.  Great ew punt.

Outclassed but not disgraced in the Vicbred & ran better than most of his rivals here that also completed.  Much easier assignment tonight & gets his chance to win from the good draw.

Put the writing on the wall with an unlucky fast finishing 3rd at Shepparton 2 starts back before a very good 2nd to Pepe Bromac at Swan Hill who'd start long odds on in this.  Not a whole heap of speed off the front row here so will settle leaders back or perhaps decide to hold until one of the favoured runners from the back row makes a move.  Either way & think Glenn Douglas gives this fella every chance to win tonight
RESULT:  LOST!  Decided to hold them all out and this sit sprinter didn't like it

She's a mare that needs a nice smother on the pegs to be any chance in her races & gets that here tonight.  She should've placed in a similar scenario at Swan Hill but for whatever reason Nigel Milne didn't want the fence run & that cost it.  Looks like settling 3 pegs here & in a race that looks void of mid race pressure, the front runners get every chance here.
RESULT:  4th!  Thought she was close to the winner on the turn but didn't finish off & nabbed for 3rd place.

First up in Oz when tried to break their hearts in the 3rd quarter but the effort told 3 wide without cover but was still a solid 2nd in better company.  Trialled very impressive at Melton prior to that and looks to have a class edge on these.
RESULT:  LAST!  Death seated and pulled it's head off but still very disappointing

$100WIN
Race 3 No 9 Petacular ($2)

Was simply brilliant in the semi.  Even though she was carted into the race by Perfect Sense, she was left 3 wide without cover at the 400metres and still picked them up with ease.  If Keayang Secret keeps the lead tonight, they may as well hand the win to Petacular BUT I still can't see how they'll hold her out if Perfect Sense managed to cross.  Only bad luck can stop her for mine.  $2.80 Sportsbet

Race 4 No 8 Our Little General ($3)

Looked a flat out chasing Tingara Beach who easy beat it in the semi but it's pretty hard to make ground with a flat tyre!  His chances improve greatly if Wrappers Delight leads & that's in the best interests of the Webster camp as that give both their horses every chance to figure but for mine, brings Our Little General right into the race.  Lauren Tritton won't die wondering and if they are paddling on the final bend, the Little General is too speedy for these to hold out.  COME ON WRAPPERS, HOLD THE LEAD!!
(Apologies punters, opened $8.50 with Ladbrokes today & I'm too late with the tip!!)

Loved her run 2 starts back when 2nd behind the very smart Dynamic Bromac and the horses that finished 3rd & 4th have both won since.  There is a very quick front line here & she shuld position in this race very nicely.  I'd double the bet if I had more confidence in the driver, who really didn't put it into the race at Cranbourne Monday.  Small field suits, looks a massive chance.

Was beaten a long way behind Iceenothink but wasn't disgraced in a 27 last quarter last week.  Was first up there so should improve on that here.  Three Ways is likely to be long odds on here & looked just OK in a recent trial at Melton & likely to be parked in the death tonight.  If they hand him the lead it's game over but I don't think Monique will.  Should settle pretty close to them Aguante and a huge chance to outsprint them late

Trip Sevens was a good 2nd against far superior horses than he meets tonight.  Even though the race tempo suited last start hard seeing him miss top 2.  Paying Your Way just seems to have excuse after excuse but hardly runs a bad race & if Alford can get Sir Maxalot running early, like he can with many he drives, he's a chance if he leads.  Only other chances are 3 & 8 with the latter an unlucky effort last start & our value in the race.  Happy to leave Eyes Shut out after 2 ordinary efforts & the others have no chance.

I love taking on a fav and Im taking on a shorty here.  This fella has been low flying for Dean Braun in recent times, racing tougher than it ever has before.  He did a heap of work when a great 2nd behind the flying Presidential Secret in electric time.  Follows through the early leader here & I'm hanging my hat on the scenario the 2 will hold out the fav and keep it death seating.  If that scenario plays out, Upanatom will be following My Kiwi Mates every move and for mine thats the perfect place to be.  If My Kiwi Mate leads, we're playing for 2nd.

No need for me to go into his past form it speaks for itself!  However The Len Smith Mile is a key matching up his chances versus Beautide.  Yes it was almost a year ago but that day Lenny had to go back to near last whilst Beautide was leading.  Lenny had to come 5 and 6 wide on the bend and only finished metres away.  He has become a much more complete horse since then and I think the Interdom Series has made him.  The draw is ideal to follow Beautides every move and Lenny will get every possible chance from there considering Arms Of An Angel intentions to hold the lead.  The massive question mark is Have Faith In Me but I'm willing to risk it against Grand Circuit horses.  His times are out of this world but times aren't everything.

Went HUGE against Group 1 winner Tact Tate (sorry couldn't help myself) but his run was first class.  Got challenged by Magic Moment Lombo early and then rattled home in 55.1 for the last half only to be outsprinted by Tact Tate.  That was the best performance from any of the heat runners.  Can fly the gate & looks a chance to lead or find the leaders back.  Either way Amanda Turnbull knows this horse very well & he looks too good for these.

Forget last start at Shepparton when got knocked over late when going for a split, looked to have plenty to give too.  Previous start was good against better opposition but its the start at Swan Hill 4 strts back that caught my eye. Was 3wide without cover over the sprint trip and kept giving to get 3rd.  Fine & Sunny led that race and finished 2nd just in front of Catch Me If Youcan.  It is tough to win from the back row at Mildura but there does look to be good pace on and he should get a nice trail into the race.  $16 on BET365 when posting this.

Race 1 Summary:
Expect Jacka Art to stroll past it's stable mate early and hold out Hall Of Famer.  With Savesometimetodream working in the death & out of form, I think Jacka Art can pinch some cheap sectionals and looks mighty hard to run down even though slightly disappointing last start.  Kerryn Manning back onboard is key

Top Pick:  Jacka Art
Best Value:  Giuliani
Best Roughy:  Hall Of Famer

Race 2 Summary:
Ourboyjay looks an easy leader here and unlikely to hand up.  Expect Colonel Joy to work off the fence early and take up the death as soon as it can.  Really looks a 2 horse race but Shishi could be a real pest which would put Ourgirlbililee and Major Jamane into the race. Colonel Joy still a stand out.

Top Pick:  Colonel Joy
Best Value:  Ourgirlbililee

Race 3 Summary:
Zee Dana should hit the pegs first but I do expect it to hand up to Born To Rocknroll.  Lazarus wont take long to move around the field to take the death and looks the winner.  They are the main chances but also expect Cant Refuse to be running on strong late.

Top Pick:  Lazarus

Race 5 Summary:
Found this a hard race to map.  Four Starzzz Forsa can do plenty wrong but on his best behaviour goes straight to the front. Does he hand up to Don't Hold Back?  These sort of questions are very hard to answer in heat racing but it isn't often John Justice hands up but it's his best chance to qualify if he does.  If he does misbehave, Brallos Pass backers will have their hearts in their mouths! Expect Kate Gath to be off around them nice and early and for mine, Brallos Pass will need to be working 3 wide without cover late.

Top Pick:  Three Ways
Best Value: Rock Of America
Best Roughy:  Leos Best

Race 6 Summary:
Kingofthestars is a star in the making and the lead is his & should have no trouble in accounting for this lot.  Hoo Nien gets the gun run with Power Of Red making the first move to take up the death seat.  Not sure how good he is and happy to risk with a tough run.  Soho Tribeca and Battle Born the hardest to hold out for Hoo Nien to place but geez it's massive odds!

Top Pick:  Kingofthestars
Best Value:  Battle Born
Best Roughy:  Hoo Nien

Race 8 Summary:
Will Metro Mike hold up?  Can Major Crocker cross?  Will Smolda test them for the lead early? How hard does Mossdale Conner go early? So vital to the race the early positioning and I have to have Major Crocker in the lead & holding.  That'll leave the fast beginner Mossdale Conner first to the death with Smolda handing it cover. If Major Crocker does hand up to Smolda then expect Lennytheshark to be moving to the death chair as soon as it can. Could still potentially happen even if Smolda doesn't lead & I think it would be happy to sit on Lennys back in the 1x1 & try to outsprint him late.  Whatever happens there won't be any moves after Lenny's makes his so expect the horses in the top 5 or 6 to be the only chances.

If they do go too hard in front, expect Bling It On to be the horse getting the 3 wide cover into the race and most dangerous late.

With some great mobile form behind it in NZ (beat Smolda home in a Group 1 in November) I think Conner Mossdale is the value punt but needs a few things to go his way.

Top Pick:   Lennytheshark
Best Value:  Mossdale Conner
Best Roughy:  Hotasel

Race 9 Summary:
Carmens Spirit is your leader and rightful favourite.  Got away with murder early & had to win last start & did so easily.  More pressure likely thoughout in this race but still the one to beat.  I wasn't that impressed with Kotare Yorks return last start and has to work too hard here.  Presidential Grin gets the good sit but is a non winner and Charlies System is a knock out chance if they go too hard up front.

Hasn't been driven well his first 2 back from a spell from bad draws but gets his chance to fnd the pegs first here.  Michael Bellman back onboard a huge plus.  Great ew bet
RESULT:  LOST!  A forgive run.  Raced roughly at the start so was no chance of leading and then got stuck in traffic.  Having said that would need to improve manners before Im back on

Race 1 No 1 Upanatom ($5)

Probably unlucky not to win at Melton over the short trip last week when the leader didn't get him to the sprint lane.  Will be a different story here tonight and should receive every possible chance from the sprint lane.
RESULT: 2nd.  Every chance & they backed it for a stack.  Massive unders.  Collect $78

Race 6 No 11 Allblack Stride ($6)
Never put into the race first up but really savaged the line late for a very good 5th.  He's a very good horse when right and I expect him to be driven more aggressively tonight.  Looks a great ew punt
RESULT:  2nd.  Weird run.  Looked in trouble 600 out but his last 200 was very good.  A win is coming very soon for him.  Collect $84

MEETING RESULT:  Won $12.  Started the year with 3 friggen 2nds

Race 8 No 1 Die Tryin ($2.50)

Forget both his runs back from a spell when never a chance from poor draws.  Back to the plum draw over the short trip is ideal & just looks better than these.
RESULT:  2nd.  Not sure how he lost.  Sprint laned, hit the front with 50 to go and switched off.
